I don't think you should give up on them so easily because they are so good. I've been a stereo guy for over 50 years and these, with my Advents, other JBL's, BiC Venturi, Kenwoods, and Altec Lansings. Only come in second to Magneplanars. They are that good. The design is worthy of being made into a much larger bookshelf or floor speaker because of the way they distribute the sound.

They match the JBL 100 Century speakers you used to make. At least, try to make a pair like that and see if you have the same success. I don't need any more speakers but if you made a big edition, I'd buy them. The PEBBLES utilizes both USB and 3.5mm AUX connection for audio, so if your system has a USB audio port, then you can use USB connection from your computer to the speaker. However, you would need to determine if your computer has USB audio capability and you would need to check on the owners manual of your computer or contact the manufacturer.

You can also use the conventional 3.5mm AUX connection of the speaker to the computer, just do not forget to check if the external speakers are set as your computers speaker, some Mac computers do not automatically detect something connected to the audio port. The PEBBLES has an auto on/off feature that is based on sound. As soon as the PEBBLES sees an audio signal present, it will turn on and begin playing. Once it stops seeing an audio signal for 10 minutes, it goes into standby, waiting for the next time you send it an audio signal. So, if your PEBBLES is turning off when you don't want it to, it is likely because you are not sending it quite enough audio signal from your source (whatever device you have connected to the aux input). Simply turn the volume up on your source to at least 75%, and turn the volume on the SB200 down, to compensate.

This will send the PEBBLES a solid signal, it will stay on, and it will sound better.
