Hi all, Bought FM 2018 on my MacBook air 2017 back in November, purchased via Steam. However, I encounter a very loud fan noise coming from my Mac when starting up the game the noise and the heat of the Mac is further prominent when playing a match. This is the case with FM Touch 2018 also. I have taken the necessary steps such as ensuring my software is up to date, resetting the SMC and re-installing the game, I have even contacted Apple whom we’re somewhat struggling for ideas after going through the troubleshooting process. My question is basically, is there any further steps I can take? Is there an application/programme that I can run FM through? Would the use of Bootcamp via Windows the the best option?
Interested to hear from those using FM 2018 on MacBook Air to come up with suggestions. Hope this can be sorted! I would say the short answer would be 'you don't need to worry about anything' (I am not responsible for any loss though).

How to install logos 4. If you’re on a Mac, it is worth the money – FINALLY.
I own an older model of MacBook Pro, and I have never played without the fan buzzing at top speed. Yet after years it runs FM and other apps fine. FM is a CPU hogging program and inevitably this means the CPU should be working heavily when you click continue. However MacOS has a very good self-controlling system that the CPU would not overheat to the level it is self-damaging. Mac has, however, a very poor design to let out the exhaust heat even it has a metal casing, and in general is not the top option for high-performance gaming. Typical Windows laptop suck in air using a fan at the bottom of the machine with a visible air inlet, and can help with a gaming cooling pad on Amazon etc. For Mac though, the fan air inlet is not visible (it is actually around the edge of the bottom panel) and cooling pad does not work as well.
You could try to install Windows via Bootcamp, but the poor hardware design should mean that the fan would run at top speed anyway. I would doubt that third-party apps do a better job than MacOS itself in this area.
Of course, if your fan works with weird noise (e.g. Imbalanced fan, clicking noises, etc) I would send the laptop to Apple and have it checked. If it is only running at high speed, I would not worry too much if I were you. It is the disappointing fact that MacBooks do not run FM too well.
FMRTE for Mac OS This version of FMRTE was designed to work with FM 18.3.4 Steam auto update STEAM automatically updates the game when a new patch is released. While it's advisable to keep the game updated, you should know that every time the game is updated it makes FMRTE useless, meaning that it also needs to be updated. So if you want to keep using FMRTE, you SHOULD use STEAM in OFFLINE mode, or do a full backup of the folder of the game, so you can restore it later. This is to prevent the game from being updated automatically as we cannot GUARANTEE that we will be able to update FMRTE to make it work with a future game patch.
